Ac. Shambhushivananda Avt
Acarya Shambhushivananda Avadhuta, or Dadaji, is currently the Rector of the International School for Social Service, a Yoga Seminary, in Sweden (www.cns-se.org). In 1990, he was nominated as the Chancellor (Kulapati) of the global education network Ananda Marga Gurukula (AMGK, www.gurukul.edu), which runs over 1,200 educational institutions in over 80 countries, by its founder, Shrii P. R. Sarkar.
He remains engaged in building a university township at Anandanagar on 525 sq. kms. of rural campuses, in West Bengal. In addition, he leads the international Neohumanist Education (NHE) movement, which blends ecology, ethics and self-realization.
He is also the founding patron of the Ananda Marga Association of Yoga Educators (AMAYE, www.amaye.org), which is devoted to research, the teaching of Yogic science throughout the world, and the cultivation of inner tranquility and outer peace.
Academic Background
Dr. Shambhushivananda holds a Ph.D. in Business and Applied Economics from the Wharton School of Business, School of Arts and Sciences, University of Pennsylvania (1978). He is also a gold-medallist from Punjab University, where he did his undergraduate and Masters in Commerce. He was on the faculty of the University of Scranton, Rutgers University, Drexel University and the Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science (now Philadelphia University), from 1972-1979.

Keynote Speaker
Ac. Shambhushivananda has been a keynote speaker at numerous forums around the world, including the Lithuanian Parliament during their independence struggle from the Soviet Union (1989), the Parliament of World Religions (1999), the Kyoto Forum (1998), the International Women’s Centre in Stockholm (2005), the World Futures Forum (2006), and Educational Challenges for the 21st Century, in Beer-Sheva, Israel (2006).

As a Yogic monk, Ac. Shambhushivananda has travelled and worked in over 100 countries, and is a celebrated speaker on Yogic traditions and contemporary problems. He was the General Secretary of Ananda Marga Pracaraka Samgha – an international non-government organization operating in 180 countries – from August 1999 to February 2001. He continues to build an international network of people devoted to inner and outer peace and a spiritually just world.
